Imelda Romualdez was the first child of Vicente Orestes Romualdez.
Born of July 2, 1929, on her birth it was said that her father
prophetically remarked" This child will be important".

Her high school days was at Tacloban, Leyte
where she became Miss Leyte High.

In 1952 she went to Manila and a year later became a fashion model
and participated in the Manila International Fair fashion show.

Late 19th century style dress with butterfly sleeves that made Imelda famous.
Because of her passion for the style she would later be called
the "Iron Butterfly" by the international press.
